Why SSJE: Deacon Rodger Patience

I discovered the Rule during a time when I was teaching in the Dioceses of Chicago and Milwaukee on the prevention of sexual misconduct in church settings. Then, as now, the Rule is a beautiful meditation on right relationship in the body of Christ, and it strengthened me for a difficult ministry. I’ve been in relationship with SSJE as a member of the Fellowship of St. John for more than 10 years now, though I still look forward to my first visit to the monastery for a retreat.
