Why SSJE: Jonathan Appleyard

I realized, after doing several retreats here, that wherever I was, serving in different parishes, I would always call this place a sort of spiritual home on Earth. So I decided, at 23 or 24, that this was the place to which I, like a homing pigeon, would have to return. And now, thirty-four years later, I’m still coming back. Returning has become a wonderful continuity for me.
