Why SSJE: The Rev. Maggie Geller
It’s such a no-brainer to support the Brothers. The Monastery is a sanctuary, a place to go and be yourself, to be with yourself, where you can come as you are. It’s true that there is a lot of need in the world, and a lot of people are vying for our resources. But in this insanely busy world, I know that my own life is richer, and that the lives of so many many people I don’t know are enriched by the fact that the Brothers are there, offering their hospitality, offering a place of peace and solace. It’s so critical to support them that I don’t even have to think about it. An email comes in, or I read Cowley, and it’s just obvious. Of course I am going to support them. I don’t even have to think about it, because I want that place to always be there. I want that invitation to continue to anybody who needs it. It just so obvious to me to support them. I would never not do that.
