Week 2 Day 1: In the Beginning
Week 2 Day 2: The Word Was Made Flesh
Week 2 Day 3: Jesus, the Healer
Week 2 Day 4: Jesus, the Teacher
Thanks for all the opportunity to reflect on Scripture through these devotionals. Praise God for the opportunity to work share and reflect
Coming to realize that I can no longer hold God at arms length when I am struggling, suffering under the illusion that I can only be with him when I am at my best. He loves all of me–the good, the bad, the UGLY! My only hope for resolution of these unattractive aspects of myself is to bring it to them for redemption! Amen
I pray for families and friends every day. Plus I have Type 1 Diabetes and Osteoporosis . I learned that if I Pray to Jesus He will help me manage my problems with my diabetes and osteoporosis. Jesus has helped. Also I have a problem not worrying about our money situation and when I am anxious my sugar goes up. Jesus has helped me with my anxiety as well. I am a blessed lady!
Week Two – Summary in Verse
Genesis, Revelation, Loss, Love and Restoration
For countless ages,
Indwelling, abiding
In silent repose,
The Essence undisturbed –
A perfect peace.
The Word emerging
Amidst billions of…
Thoughts – contracted;
To a seed, reflecting, and…
Manifesting love.
Exploding in fullness –
Expansion, evolving,
In sublime perfection;
Creating totality, and
All life evoking
Darkness separated
Death emerged in
Decay, dissolution, but…
Restored, Redeemed
Returned to the Word.
Through the Holy Hand,
Purifying by example –
Cleansing and caring;
Washing away tears…
Pain and suffering.
Listen, hear… see…
Witnesses observe,
Experience the Truth.
The Word walking, breathing;
The way of sacred speaking.
The Light extinguished
Lost in dark thoughts
The first day arriving
Deliverance arising
Love’s dawn in our hearts
Pax – David
Reflecting on the offerings of this past week brings to my awareness that something deep, powerful is beginning to move, shift, in consciousness. Feel drawn to abide in stillness to nurture this connection with Spirit. With gratitude, Brothers, for you guidance.
Many deep blessings!
I love this series and have for two years now. I look forward to listen each day and truly enjoy Johns gospel. Blessings to all the wonderful Brothers and prayers coming your way. Thank you again for this wonderful series.
Ceil Z.
In these first two weeks of “Meeting Jesus in John” I am finding delight in again immersing myself in Jesus’ wonderful, amazing presence.
Thank you for this loving work, dear Brothers.
We serve a God of love, compassion, and beauty and I praise His Holy name! Hallelujah!
It is so good to be able to read these comments each day and share God’s love with His children. May we all listen amidst our daily activities an act on what we receive.
Transformation
Dear SSJE Brothers,
What a wonderful Lenten study. I spent several days in your monastery 2 1/2 years ago and found it to be everything I expected it to be. Silent, meditative, respectful, worshipful, friendly, freeing, and most of all intentionally present to God. I plan on coming back.
This Lenten study on a daily basis is excellent. My church is doing it, and it seems to be drawing individuals into spiritual practices and into sharing Godly thoughts together very quickly. I have also found myself taking many thoughts based on your study into a women’s prison study that I facilitate every week. Many of the women appear to becoming more vocal about their their personal relationship with Christ., and this is so beautiful!
Thanks be to God and for you all developing this study,
