A Small Group for Students
Saturdays from September 26th through December 19th, for approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour in the evening
From the early days of Christian monasticism, monks have organized their lives around a rule. These patterns enabled balance between worship, work, and rest, as a constant offering of prayer to God. Instability and uncertainty in the world can be invitations to devote ourselves more fully to a rhythm of regular prayer, rooting us in a structure of spiritual practice. This will be a community experience, meeting regularly for worship and shared conversation, to learn and support each other in the development of personal patterns of prayer. Brothers of SSJE will offer teachings, facilitate discussion, and be available for further spiritual conversation and direction.
Eligibility: While meetings will begin online, it is our hopeful intention to meet in-person when this becomes safely possible. As such, this cohort’s participation is limited to graduate and undergraduate students of Boston-area schools. This group is open to participants regardless of gender. Commitment to Christian faith is an expectation, though we warmly welcome participants from a variety of Christian traditions as well as those who may be new to faith.
