While I have not had the opportunity to get to know you as my three retreats at the monastery over the past two years or so were silent, I nevertheless had the opportunity to observe you and it is abundantly evident that this is the ministry that God has called you to, and for that I give thanks to God. I know that God will continue to bless you and I would like to send along my greetings and best wishes from California as well as offering up prayers on your behalf and that of the community.
Congratulations and best wishes, Br. Sean; at least SOME good things happen in 2020. I will be “there” (virtually) to watch and pray, and have invited my fellow Vestry members and other parishoners at All Saints Church in Bay Head NJ to join their prayers with mine, and to watch if they wish.
Sean, Congratulations on taking your initial vows. Unfortunately, i will not be able to attend, even virtually. But I will be with you and the brothers in spirit. It is wonderful to see you when I visit the Monastery and to think about our singing days together. Bless your vocation.
Dear Brother Sean,
May God’s wonderful Light and Love continue to flow into your life, and through you into the lives of many.
Mary

Even now, when the plot
calls for me to turn to stone,
the sun intervenes. Some mornings
in summer I step outside
and the sky opens
and pours itself into me
as if I were a saint
about to die. But the plot
calls for me to live,
be ordinary, say nothing
to anyone. Inside the house,
the mirrors burn when I pass.
