Julian of Norwich was a fourteenth century woman whose visionary writings offer profound hope and meaning for those who struggle to feel God’s love as a living, personal reality. Her experience of God’s constancy in the midst of the upheaval, death, and change of her own time speaks to the heart of our present moment. But diving into her words and her world can be tough-going without a guide. This mini-course will aim to provide a basic orientation to Julian’s revelations: her understanding of sin, suffering, mercy, and our unbreakable bond with God in Christ. The first hour of each session will feature theological exploration to make meaning of the text; in the second hour, we will engage our hearts with the meanings brought to light through discussion & personal reflection.
There will be a limit of 15 participants for this offering. We kindly ask that participants be willing and able to attend all four sessions.
Dates: Tuesdays, 7-9pm: Dec 8, 15, 22 & 29
Note: Once the program is full, the form will no longer be available.
