Revelation

Presume that God’s revelation is happening all along the way, not just in “sacred” moments but in every moment, every day. Practice attentiveness.

Celebrating 10 Years of Brother, Give Us A Word

We invited friends around to world to share how Brother, Give Us A Word has been meaningful to them. How have the daily words inspired you or influenced your prayer life? See what other have said and share your own story here: SSJE.org/celebrating10

Brother Give Us a Word reminds me every morning of the special quality of the Holy Spirit, something I’m always trying – through my conflicts – to get ahold of. It’s a balancing act. Praying with the Brothers, I’ve come to understand the way its creative force inspires Christian liturgy, as it does all sacred texts, I imagine. Repeating the words returns us to its Light. And the Brothers keep that Light on 24 hours a day, praying together. It can show you how to live. All activities become creative when they don’t just depend on you. These daily meditations are taken directly out of the Brothers’ sermons, which in turn reflect on Gospel passages, following a sacred calendar. Each step proceeds from the Spirit that, in our tradition we say Christ left to us. For me, more than any beliefs, it has become a compass.
