Darkness

“The light shines in the darkness and the darkness did not overcome it.” The Greek word used for ‘overcome,’ can also mean ‘comprehend.’ Light is unknowable to darkness. Light cannot be penetrated by darkness. Rather Light penetrates and cleaves the darkness, and while it has not, as of yet, dispelled the darkness, it cannot be quenched, understood, or overcome by it.
