In the Baptismal Covenant we are asked: “Will you strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being?” In this, we cannot help but be political, for human dignity is inseparable from adequate food, shelter, clean water, medical care, education, and respect, regardless of gender, orientation, race, religion or origins. And all of these are about the use, or abuse, of power.
