Discover SSJE at the Seminary of the Southwest

During the week of November 3, Brothers Jack Crowley and Lain Wilson took SSJE on the road to Austin, Texas, where they were at the Seminary of the Southwest. Following up on previous visits by Brothers to Virginia Theological Seminary and the School of Theology at Sewanee, we invited seminarians, faculty, and staff to Discover SSJE.

The initiative allows Brothers to introduce SSJE and its ministries and resources to future Church leaders, providing them with information about offerings and resources from the Society that can equip their own ministry and spirituality. The time with seminarians is also a valuable opportunity for us to hear directly from students about the issues that are most central to them and those they serve.

Jack and Lain had the privilege to join the community at the Día de los Muertos liturgy on Monday, and Lain preached on Election Day. We gave a lunchtime presentation, which included the announcement of the Discover SSJE Young Adult and Student Scholarship, which provides financial support for members of both groups to attend retreats at the Monastery.
